Official inauguration of coworking Silversquare Antwerp Tower
Unique private offices and flex desks between Central Station and the Meir
After a promising start last summer, coworking pioneer Silversquare celebrates the official opening of its Antwerp branch on the Frankrijklei today. Located between the Central Station and the Meir, the coworking location designed by fashion designer Stephanie D'heygere offers a unique combination of design, functionality and networking opportunities. The opening of this location underlines Silversquare's ambition to play a leading role in the Flemish business landscape.
5500 sqm of space for entrepreneurs
With 5500 square metres, Silversquare Antwerp Tower is the ideal place for professionals, from freelancers to larger companies. 173 flexible workstations, 126 private offices, meeting rooms, brainstorming corners and a wide range of facilities make this building the epicentre of entrepreneurship in Antwerp. Alexandre Ponchon, one of the founders of Silversquare, says: "The success of the soft opening in July showed that there is a great demand for high-quality coworking spaces in Antwerp. With the official opening, we want to offer entrepreneurs a place where they can grow, network and innovate."
Silversquare offers both day passes (from 35 euros), shared workspaces (from 325 euros per month) and private offices (from 600 euros per month). Today, more than a third of the private offices are already rented out and Silversquare Antwerp Tower has around 195 members. Some renowned companies such as Bizztalent, Kick & Rush, Peugeot Saveurs, CNBB, Seeds of Law and Main Capital are located there.
With the successful launch in Antwerp and the recent laying of the foundation stone in Louvain-La-Neuve, Silversquare underlines its ambition to remain at the forefront of coworking spaces. "We pride ourselves on not only growing, but also constantly reinventing ourselves, like with our 'Light flex memberships'. Such a membership allows professionals to work 10 days a month in one of our 12 coworking spaces and use our conference rooms. This is how we meet the needs of today's business people," adds Axel Kuborn, co-founder of Silversquare.
Back to the office life of the 80s and 90s
Fashion designer Stephanie D'heygere, known for her own brand 'D'heygere' and the brains behind the unique design of Silversquare Antwerp Tower, likes to explain her inspiration for the coworking: "The design is a response to modern office life. I want to combine the seriousness of an office job with the playfulness and surrealism, like in Wonderland, without making it ridiculous."
"The idea is that when you walk through the coworking, you are constantly surprised by new elements. For example, there are many oversized objects present, inspired by Claes Oldenburg and American Pop architecture in California. For example, two giant desk lamps whose base is a seat and which give off real light. Also a coffee pot that stretches over two floors and thus seems to break through the ceiling, and a coffee bag that represents the bar," says Stephanie.
